Sticky Rice Recipe

The healthiest dish ever which is also super easy to prepare.

What shall we need?

  • 1 cup of sweet rice
  • 1 cup of unsweetened coconut milk
  • 1/3 cup and 3 tablespoons of sugar and some salt
  • Lightly toasted sesame seeds
  • 25 slices of mango

How to make this dish?

Firstly, like each and every rice recipe, you need to wash it well until water is clear. Soak rice in some water for the night.

Steam the rice for half an hour, covered with a kitchen towel and a lid. Add more water if you feel it is worth.

In a separate saucepan boil 1 cup of coconut milk and add 1/3 cup sugar and salt, and stir all the time for the sugar to be dissolved. Once done, remove from heat and keep warm.

Combine the cooked rice with the coconut-milk mixture and stir. Let rice absorb the milk for half an hour.

Meanwhile, you can start to slowly boil the remaining 1/3 cup coconut milk with remaining 3 tablespoons sugar in another pan, stirring from time to time for a minute. Let the sauce be in a small bowl and cool to get thickened.

When serving, mold 1/4 cup of sticky rice onto a plate. Drizzle the rice with sauce and finally sprinkle with the sesame seeds. Put mango slices on the plates in order for the dish to look more appetizing.

Very easy and wonderfully healthy dish. The only thing here is that you need to soak the rice in the water for overnight to reduce the cooking time and effort. Once you have the cooked rice the rest of the activities are top easy and will go automatically.
